As always, our primary concern is for the well-being of our clients, our patients, and our staff. The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association (ISVMA) have issued guidelines to be followed at this time. These guidelines, in addition to our values and standards, are driving our response to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
Veterinarians and our teams provide important animal and public health surveillance, deliver essential medical care for ill animals, and reduce pain and suffering. As such, our intention is to remain available to you as usual. We will be open during our normal business hours as always.
As citizens, we must, however, support the efforts of our government leaders and participate in activities that will limit the spread of the COVID virus within the community.
Please follow these guidelines to help us all stay safe and healthy.
- Call ahead for appointments and medicine pick-up. Be prepared to pay for items over the phone if you are just picking-up medication.
- Wait in your car – all clients and patients must wait in their cars. When you arrive, please call us at 815.459.3380 to let us know you are here. If you are picking-up medication we will bring it out to you. If you are here to see a DVM with your pet, we will let you know when we are ready for you to come in. You and your pet will be escorted directly into an exam room. We ask that only one person accompany your pet during the visit. We will make exceptions for humane euthanasia appointments.
- If you are ill, please send a healthy friend or family member, we need to keep our staff safe and healthy.
- When in doubt, call. If you are unsure whether your pet needs to be seen urgently or if a scheduled appointment is appropriate, please call us to help you assess the situation. We are not planning to schedule appointments for optional treatments (i.e., nail trims) at this time.
We appreciate your cooperation and patience.
