We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.

We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.

Individualized Flea Control Programs

We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.

Behavioral Counseling

We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.

Radiology and Ultrasound

Our on-site X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many disorders, both soft-tissue and orthopedic in nature. X-rays are often used in conjunction with ultrasound in achieving a diagnosis of a particular disease process.

Ultrasound is an invaluable, noninvasive diagnostic tool that enables us to image your pet's internal organs.  This imaging modality enables us to visualize the structure and architecture of abdominal and thoracic organs to find any abnormalities that we cannot see or feel on routine exam.  Ultrasound is painless and can be performed without sedation on most pets.

Abdominal ultrasound is commonly used for diagnosing bladder and kidney stones, abdominal masses, and to aid in assessment of internal organ function. We also perform reproductive/fetal ultrasound exams routinely.

Echocardiography (ultrasound of the heart) enables us to detect the source of a heart murmur, assess heart chamber size, and detect fluid or masses located within the chest cavity and around the heart.

In-House Laboratory

Our in-house laboratory allows us to get accurate and quick results in order to better treat your pet. Tests that are able to be performed include:

  • Complete blood count
  • Blood chemistry panels
  • Packed cell volume and total protein levels
  • Electrolyte levels
  • Feline leukemia and FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) testing (cats)
  • Heartworm testing
  • Tick-borne diseases
  • Complete urinalysis
  • Fecal flotation to check for microscopic intestinal parasite eggs
  • Cytology of masses and ear infections
  • Skin scrapings for mange
  • Ringworm cultures
  • We also utilize independent labs to perform specialized tests.

Dentistry

One of the most commonly diagnosed health problems we see in our companion animals is dental disease. And it doesn't affect just the mouth – it can lead to more serious health problems including heart and kidney disease.

Veterinary dental care begins at the puppy / kitten life stages. All puppies and kittens are examined for problems related to the deciduous (baby) teeth, missing or extra teeth, swellings, and oral development. AS your pet ages, we look for growth abnormalities, the accumulation of plaque and tartar, periodontal disease and oral tumors.

CLVH provides dental cleanings and dental treatments that include a complete oral examination and ultrasonic scaling, polishing, as well as dental x-rays, periodontal surgery and tooth extraction when necessary. If more advanced dental care is needed we will refer you to a qualified specialist.

Our entire staff strives to promote the best dental health possible. We recognize National Dental Month by offering dental cleanings at a special discount during the month of February.
